Celebrating Our
54th Year!
1955 - 2009
The Trenton Cooperative Nursery School, founded in 1955, is a non-profit, play based pre-school for three to five year olds.
In line with traditional cooperative philosophy, Trenton Co-op is directed, maintained, and supported by its' members. Classes are taught by a certified teacher with parents assisting in the classroom. This relationship opens the way for wonderful experiences and the opportunity for parents to be fully welcomed and needed as integral parts of their children's preschool education.
A Day in the Life ...
Each day upon entering the classroom the children will put their names up on the board and sit for “circle time”. During this time they will sing a song, hear a story and our teacher will explain the project for the day. After the project, the children will disperse to the various activity centers; art, quiet corner (games, puzzles, and books), kitchen/dress up corner, and active corner (climber, work bench, obstacle course, etc. . .). They may also visit the writing, discovery, play dough, and sensory tables. When play time is over and everyone helps clean up, the children will then sit on the rug. During this time they will sing another song, and have “show-n-tell”. The children will be able to participate in a music movement game. The day concludes with hand-washing and a nutritious snack.
